We often advise our customers to do the following things when first moving into a new home:
- Take meter readings – water, electricity and gas – ensure you keep these and share with your utility companies.
- Find the water meter and fuse box.
- If you are moving into a new build – make a snagging list – note any damage to walls, skirting, ceilings, door frames etc and ensure you report these to your builder contact.
- Check when your new bin collection day is.
- Make sure you have keys for all doors/window locks etc and that they work.
- Check you have a key to bleed your radiators.
- Say hello to your neighbours.
